Install NumPy

How to install NumPy using pip.

Install NumPy Using PIP

pip is a package that used in the Terminal to download modules from the web. pip will already be installed on your computer if you are using Version 2.7.9+ for Python 2 or Version 3.4+ for Python 3. To check what version of Python you are using, open up the Terminal and simply type python and hit Return. The Version number will appear in the output:

Python 2.7.11 (v2.7.11:6d1b6a68f775, Dec 5 2015, 12:54:16)
[GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5666) (dot 3)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

In the Terminal, run pip install numpy to install the latest available Version of NumPy:

Requirement already satisfied (use --upgrade to upgrade): numpy in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages
